CAPTURING A SENSE OF PLACE
Place contained feeling and meaning in it. A place to me might only be a space for some others as they didn’t have connection with it. This is the installation describing my place and brings back the memory of my childhood and a sense of (my)place.

PROCESS
I chose to produce an exact replica of the metal plate that use as another layer of security of my front door. It was installed following a burglary at our house fifteen years ago. After using this metal plate as another layer of security, our house has been made safe from thieves.

FABRIC INSTALLATION
MEMORY
It is agreed that Do Ho Suh methodology uses exact replicas of actual houses or objects however, I would like to take this further.  I would like to make an installation of the subject space from my own memories.  Memory can take the form of sensations, images, and emotions.  Memory lends itself perfectly as a subject and tool for art and artists.  Some artists try to document things exactly as they are in order to create a record for future generations or exact sensation.  But others deliberately frame the past in different or unexpected ways to change the way we think about history.
