TRANSITION FEELING
Moving from place to place is not easy. Â Before it becomes a place to us, it used to be just a space. Â Any new environment, whether it be physical or cultural, gives the feeling of not belonging to the society. Indeed, it can create a feeling of alienation. Â Things that seems to be easy suddenly become really difficult in the new place. Â Things that we see every day become strange. Â New space is something with which there is no connection to individuals. Â Space is a blank slate, a physical location that has yet to be coloured with personal experience.

Transition feelinig
The installation is made using four rolls of tapes.  It is situated on the fifth floor of Manchester’s Architecture Faculty Building.  The reason for choosing the Benzie building to site the installation was because the faculty was one of the spaces where I used to feel awkward.  I had a strange feeling the first time I visited.  It was difficult to recognise individual rooms and the result was a loss of any sense of direction.  The space looks so dense, small and full of storages.  The feeling of complexity and not belonging were planted in my mind. Life back home (represented by the linear tape) no longer existed. The challenges, obstacles, and difficulties which I faced are represented by the tangled section.  I needed to overcome these obstacles, to pass through and be able to fit in the new space.
