MY PLACE
The place where I belong
My home in Hatyai, Songkhla is a place where I have felt warmth, belonging and security. Fifteen years of my life were spent there developing innumerable memories. It is the place with which I have a strong connection and whenever I return, childhood memories often come to mind.

MY HOME
One scene indelibly imprinted on my memory is that of a row of shophouses with collapsible doors being opened daily at seven o’ clock in the morning and closed at six o’ clock in the evening, as regular as clockwork.
PHOTOGRAPH
Home? Not Home?
Perception is very important, and can change depending on your viewpoint. Viewing something from different points could lead to different emotions and interpretations. These are the photographs of collapsible doors taken from inside and outside a house. Viewers will have different responses depending on whether they are an outsider or the homeowner.

Perfect Execution
“Home? Not home?” Shows the perspective of people from outside looking inside the house. Is the person happy inside? Does the person get a sense of belonging to the place? “Lock” Is trying to express the feeling of being disconnected from the outside world.

LAYERS
The purpose of having many layers of doors is to keep owners safe from strangers, extreme weather and animals. Living behind these layers of doors makes me feel safe, but also confined. There is no window on the first floor for shophouse. Once the door is closed, there is a feeling of being disconnected from the outside world.
